Aircraft Rebuild Factory, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra rolled out the 1000th jet aircraft, today, after overhaul ,along with it being rollout of the 1st K8-8P Aircraft, starting local overhaul of this plane, together with overhaul of several other types of fighter and transport aircraft jet engines.
This event was celebrated as a major milestone in aviation history of Pakistan. Minister for defence production mr rana tanveer hussain was the chief guest at the occasion. Chairman Senate Committee On National Defense Mr Mushahid Hussain Sayed and Advisor To Prime Minister On Aviation Mr Mehtab Abbasi were also present along with Chief Of The Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman Hi(M), Chinese Ambassador Mr Sun Weidong and other national and defence dignitaries.
While addressing the gathering, Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain appreciated the efforts and dedication of officers and technicians of Aircraft Rebuild Factory (Arf), Pac Kamra for their contributions to the national cause of self-reliance in defense industry. He also appreciated the role of Chinese friends for their continued and uninterrupted support and patronage. He highlighted that the Pak-China relationship has matured into a strategic partnership with more opportunities of development and professional growth.
Earlier, Managing Director ARF, Air Commodore Sajid Mehmood Awan presented the overview and brief history of the factory. Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief Of The Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the contributions of PAC in sustenance of PAF operations. He said that the aircraft produced by PAC have not only saved a huge foreign exchange but also has enabled Pakistan to emerge as a self-reliant country in the field of aviation. The Air Chief appreciated the close cooperation between the aviation industries of China and PAC and said that the present achievement is yet another remarkable milestone in the long and fabulous history of Pak-China Defence Cooperation. The ceremony was also attended by President of China National Aero-technology Import and Export Corporation (CATIC) and various senior officers from Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force.
Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra and its factories have emerged as a very well equipped manufacturing and service base for producing 2-seater, Mashshak as well as JF-17 Jet Fighter which has become the standard workhorse of the Pakistan Air Force.
The Mashshak has become a favourite with flying training schools of several forces in the world and with the capacity to pull 3.1 G, it comes closest to being a pre jet trainer.
As a full acrobatic plane, built under license of SAAB, the Mashshak is popular also with acrobatic enthusiasts.
The Aircarft Manufacturing Factory of the PAC is well equipped to undertake contract manufacturing of 2-10 seater aircraft for various Western aircraft companies as well as undertake subcontract work for aircraft beady parts, sub- assembly work, wire-harness manufacturing and repair. Facilities also exist for body repair, MRO, canopy manufacture as well as machining of of large and small aerospace components together with the needed heat treatment and coating required according to NADCAP certification. PAC already manufactures parts for Boeing since more than ten years. Situated in Pakistan, a low labour cost country, PAC is ideally suited for aircraft related sub contract work with the expertise and facilities along with a large pool of well trained and disciplined workforce.
