The US embassy and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), jointly organized a business model competition that prolonged for 19 weeks in which more than 400 Pakistani start-up-businesses participated. First 3 positions were awarded with PKR 1,000,000, 750,000 and 500,000 respectively in t he 2013 Pakistan StartUp Cup awards ceremony that took place in Marriot Hotel, Islamabad.
U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan Richard G. Olson in his key-note address illuminated the importance of entrepreneurship to the economy of any country. He also highlighted the initiatives such as Khushali ka Safar (“Journey to Prosperity”) taken by the U.S. Embassy to empower innovative, dynamic young Pakistani entrepreneurs to transform their dreams into reality.
