U.S. Commerce Department to Host Gems and Jewelry Delegation

From May 27 to June 10, a delegation of eighteen Pakistani gems and jewelry business leaders will visit United States. The U.S. Department of Commerce is hosting this visit. Training will be provided to the members of delegation during their visit to Washington D.C. and Las Vegas in order to expand their information regarding the processing of gems and jewelry.  Along with encouraging the delegation members to participate in worldwide trade shows, the visit will give delegation members an overview of how to improve their respective businesses upon their return to Pakistan.

This training is aimed at assisting U.S.- Pakistan trade and at helping Pakistan to progress towards a better and strong economy with increased amount of exports of various products. This training is part of Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) program which is funded by U.S. Department of Commerce. Similar trainings were held in 2012 and 2010.

After going through a competitive application review, candidates will be selected. The deadline for the application is 28 February ’14. Application form is free and can be downloaded from http://www.commerce.gov.pk/.
