The Geneva International Motor Show opened on Tuesday where automobiles reached new heights of sparkle due to reduced fuel prices. All sorts of automobiles ranging from ultra-luxury sports cars to 4×4 wheel drives were on show during the event. This was Europe’s 86th edition of the show where some 120 new models of known auto manufacturers were announced. The auto industry is all set to make new records since the crisis for some manufacturers in 2013.
The world’s fastest road car was first made public at the show where Buggati flaunted with the 2.4 million euro 1,500 horsepower engine Chiron which pedals at 420 km/hr. With a 770 horsepower engine the Lamborghini Centenario was also closely followed with some 1.75 million euros worth speed of 350 km/hr.
Lamborghini though said that only 40 such Centenarios would be made and this is the most powerful car in its 53 year old history when all 40 of them have already been sold before the show’s opening. Whereas 500 more models hence have been planned for the Chiron before the car is revealed by the company.
An all new extended wheelbase version of the Mulsanne saloon was given out by Volkswagen’s Bentley. This would cater to Chinese buyers who shall enjoy the extra (9.8) rear leg room and airline-style extending leg rests.
