Ghandhara Nissan Re-entering into Pakistan Market

Pakistan for the second time will welcome Nissan Motors Company limited on its re-entry in the market. It is yet not disclosed that which cars will be hitting the roads. Senior vice president of Nissan motor on the occasion of press meeting didn’t reveal anything about prices rather pointed that they are focusing to be Quality oriented.

Ali Kuli Khan Khattak, the chairman of Ghandhara Nissan Ltd (GNL) was also present on this occasion and both have signed an agreement to start production of Nissan motors. Rs.4.5 billion will be invested in this partnership by Ghandhara over the span of four years. The company will enjoy the benefits of Brownfield status acquired under Auto development policy 2016-2021. The revival of the plant at Port Qasim will create 2000 jobs and also 6000 cars per year.

With the growing population and low level of car ownership this market offers good incentive said Kargar, head of Nissan’s operations in India, Middle East, and Africa.

He also added that the annual sales will grow to 0.3 million by the year 2022. But nothing was declared on the model that will be rolled out first in the market. According to Kargar, Nissan Sunny was not pitched at the right time and also a company cannot come with one product.

With the growth in cars sales of 45 percent, Ghandhara is enhancing the capacity of its plan to produce 30000 units year.
