The Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan has never failed meeting up to the expectations of his fans. This time again he has delivered a super hit movie resulting in giving the highest grossing movie of Bollywood, Dangal. Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’, the movie with all the wrestling and drama has crossed Rs 600 crore worldwide, becoming the highest grossing movie of Bollywood of all-time.
The movie is based on the true story of the sisters who achieved firsts for Indian wrestling at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games wrestling, Geeta and Babita Phogat, the champions. After collecting in more than $50m in box office collections in three weeks, Dangal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari is still running successfully in theaters across the globe.
Ever since the release of the movie Bollywood film critics and celebrities have been praising it. “It’s a marvellous thing that it has done so well because its not a traditional Bollywood film,” said Anupama Chopra, a film critic and author of several books on the industry.
Director Karan Johar tweeted, “Just saw Dangal, haven’t seen a better film in a decade speechless!!!!”.
Dangal has beaten PK, Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan to become highest grossing movie of Bollywood.
Aamir Khan took to Twitter to thank all his fans saying, “I am absolutely overwhelmed with all the love that Dangal has got. It is one of the most passionate responses I have ever received. I want to thank everyone for owning the film as their own. It’s the biggest compliment a creative person can receive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And thank you Nitesh Sir. Love. a.”
