Coconut oil that is believed to be very essential for a variety of reasons has some startling facts revealed about its use.
Karin Michels the professor at Harvard University has revealed that Coconut Oil is very harmful against traditional myths about it.
Director of the Institute of Prevention and Tumor Epidemiology at the University of Freiburg in his 50 minutes online lecture has stirred strong debate online. The lecture that was titled ‘Coconut Oil and Nutritional Errors’ aware of the masses regarding the balanced diet and also explains that how coconut oil is not good for health. This super food become the subject of sheer controversy since American Heart Association (AHA) mentioned in its guidelines that people should avoid saturated fatty acids found in coconut oil.
Michels went a step further claiming coconut oil to be “pure poison” and being “one of the worst foods to eat”. No studies so far have shown significant health benefits from the consumption of this oil. The professor states that the saturated fatty acids found in oil can clot coronary arteries.
Experts recommend olive or rapeseed oil as an alternative because they contain unsaturated fatty acids. While flaxseed oil can’t be used for cooking, it’s rich in omega-3 fatty acids which are good for the body.
