Jawani Phir Nahi Ani has beaten Waar’s record and became the highest grossing film of all time, by collecting more than Rs 260 million at the box office.
Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, before its release, was being boasted as Pakistan’s most costly venture of the year and it lived up to every word of its hype. The film has become the highest grossing movie of all time, beating the impressive record of Waar
The film had made an impressing debut and broken records on its first day at the box office. The move raked in an impressive Rs 20.7 on its first day of release.
Jawani Phir Nahi Ani did face a little competition when local films alongside it were also releasing, however none was able to take its shine as JPNA took flight along the box office and gathered some impressive amounts. Humayun Saeed had high expectations from the movie prior to its release and had stated that it will be a blockbuster upon release.
There are many aspects of the movie with which the Pakistani audience members connected. First of all, it has an ensemble cast to its name such as Humayun Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahmed Butt, Vasay Chaudhry, Mehwish Hayat, Ayesha Khan, Sarwat Gillani, Uzma Khan, Bushra Ansari, Javed Sheikh, Suhai Ali Abro and Ismail Tara.
Secondly, the humour immediately has everyone’s funny bone tickling. Vasay Chaudhry has outdone himself with a marvelous script and Ahmed Butt’s timing is beyond perfection. This also happens to be perhaps the first Pakistani film in which the actors seem to have worked painstakingly at the dances and rehearsed each step in advance. Expert choreographers were hired to coach the actors and actresses in learning the different and diverse dance steps in the film.
All in all, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani has turned out to be an immense and unparalleled success. If you still haven’t watched the movie, what more could convince you to buy your ticket to the cinema, then the fact that the movie has outsold every other in Pakistan, till date. It is a must watch.
