Mahira Khan’s Verna expected to be cancelled and banned due to strong and mature content of the movie. The movie is made on the very less spoken yet common topic of rape. This did not go well with the censor board. The censor board did not issue the certificate which is compulsory for airing a movie.
This is sad news for audience as everyone was upbeat about this movie as it had a strong message and cast. The movies made by Shoaib Mansoor always talk about controversial topics.
Mahira and Haroon, the main actors were promoting the movie with great zeal and it is shocking for them to hear this disappointing update on the release of the movie.
The Sindh Board of Film Censors (SBFC) general secretary Abdul Razzaq Khuhawar has informed that the movie is facing problems due to objectionable content.
He further said the SBFC is waiting for a decision from Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) Islamabad. CBFC chairman Mobashir Hasan said, “The film is yet to be viewed by the full board and see if there are any objections.
Furthermore, he added that, ““Nothing has been decided and the film is not banned so far. We will view it and come to a final decision soon.”
Shoaib Mansoor has appealed against the decision for urgent relief of his film Verna.
Mahira Khan’s Verna should not to be banned and it should be given a go ahead as it focuses on an important topic. let’s see what the future holds for the movie.
