Lahore is all set and ready to be fashion upgraded by the Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) Sunsilk Fashion Week 2016.
This is the ninth time for the event to occur with its popularity and success growing all the way to reach new levels. The event is scheduled to be held from 10th March 2016 to 13th March 2016. With the first two days designated for luxury prêt, the third day shall halfway be divided into luxury prets and high street textile/voile show. The last day shall fully be glamorous with the street fashion.
DAY1
The ‘Sugar Rush’ Collection by Sana Safinaz shall be the opening show with a sporty look having youthful and urban modern style looks. After a two year’s gap Feeha Jamshed shall also be showcasing her ‘Bob Squad’ inspired by the late 60 and early 70’s trends. After her return from Europe, Faryal Aftab of Muse is also all set to flaunt her shoes and accessories line with her partner Moeed Yousaf. Faryal was greatly inspired by the electrifying Milan city and hence is her titled collection “LastNight”. After a long break Sublime by Sara Shahid, shall also be making it to the ramp with pastel inspired collection titled ‘Exhale”. Maria B shall be giving out her ‘Moonlit Sahara’ collection inspired to be themed with Russian vintage jewellery looks. Other young designers like Unza Khalid, Saiq Raheem, Hira Ali and Ghulam Dastgir shall also be making up for the first day showcase.
DAY2
The ever famous Nomi Ansari shall be starting off the great day with his vibrant ‘Joyride’ collection. His signature collection styles shall also be seen throughout. With the most innovative designer Ali Xeeshan with his ‘Voodoo’ collection the day shall be awesomely exciting with his journeys from highest to lowest rides. The geometrics for the Art Deco movement shall make way for Sania Maskatiya with her solid clothing line. The first timer Mahgul shall be dong her show with her ‘Oro’ collection for imaginaries close to living near the Indus river. She has also designed casual and sportswear line this time round with collaborations from the jewellery designer Zohra Rahman. Love at first sight themed ‘Flechazo’ shall be highlighted by Nickie Nina inspired by rich cultures while Karma Pink shall be showing off with ‘Studio 54’ disco party theme designs.
DAY 3
Shamoon Sultan shall sow his ‘Translucent’ collection under the Khaadi Kahs hood. With the House of Kamiar Rokni giving of his fashion London collection with some additions, Zonia Anwaar will show off ‘Kieven’ reflecting medieval time clothing.Saira Shakira will be giving off ‘Ysatis’ as a journey for breaking all stereotypes while Zara Shahjahan shall give off ‘The Sartorailist’ kasmiri embroidery collection. HSY shall inspire you to ‘Be Yourself’ through his disctinct Iris Apfel collection. However other high street brands shall include Hang Ten, Denizen, Umar Iftikhar and DSS.
DAY 4
‘D Philosophy’ shall return with the exclusive signature Deepak Pervani collection at the event closing day. Al-Karam, Gul Ahmed, Warda Prints, ‘Harmony’ by Hang Ten, Shirin Hassan, Sobia Nazir, Ittehad Textile Mills, MBM and HSY Limited shall also be revealed with the freshers gearing up in the industry. HSY Limited shall include a different display style this time that shall be unique as compared to wen it was first revealed at the celebration of the foundation’s anniversary.
