legal notice to Hamza Ali abbasi

It was on Wednesday that a legal notice was issued to Hamza Ali Abbasi by the Punjab Government to spread false rumors in the case of children abductions across the province which came into limelight when Hamza confirmed the same through his official Facebook post.

The notice has been served by the provincial government’s public prosecution department and states that the number of missing children quoted by Hamza is incorrect as it is less than one third of what Hamza has reported. It also said that Hamza’s post had been an example of pure exaggeration for the creation of insecurity among the general public. Hamza, on the other hand stated in a private news program that the notice should then be served to other outlets as well because he as a Pakistani believes that these politicians are insensitive just like animals.

Moreover, Shafqat Mehmood who is a senior leader of PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf) has said that Hamza has been subjected to such treatment because he is a PTI supporter while the government is not liable to arrest or even serve notices to anyone for their Tweets or even Whatsapp messages and that it shows how Nawaz misuses his authority. It shall be also important to note here that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) had also banned Hamza for hosting his Ramzan Shows on Aaj TV because they had received complaints for provoking content being aired there.
