Box office report X MenAccording to box office report X Men is not doing more than the Captain America: Civil War which first made it to Pakistani screens around 3 weeks ago and the film is yet not to lose pace. The film has continued its impressive run on the local box office, bringing its earnings to a total of Rs67 million.

“Even after a decrease in the number of shows and screens [from 53 to 30] it is still doing well,” an IMGC Entertainment spokesperson said.

The third installment in the Captain America series is not the only Hollywood film to perform well in Pakistan. The Jungle Book, which has been screening at local cinemas for over a month now, has earned over Rs60 million. Its box office gross currently stands at Rs62 million. The IMGC official is confident that the animated film will earn more.

In contrast with competing against Azhar and the aforementioned movies, Pakistani film Mah-e-Mir continues to hold up. According to a Hum Films official, the movie’s box office tally has reached Rs24 million.

The only major film to come out this week was X-Men: Apocalypse. While it appeared that the release might be able to stop Captain America’s earnings, it witnessed a modest opening compared to that of the Chris Evans starrer.

Opening on 51 screens across the country, X-Men Apocalypse managed to rake in Rs11 million during its first three days whereas Captain America: Civil War had earned Rs31 million in its opening two days.

Moreover, Emraan Hashmi’s Azhar has also met with a mixed response in Pakistan with the film only managing to gross Rs17.5 million so far.
