Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi took a test flight of the Turkish T129. He became the first Pakistani PM to fly a military helicopter. The Prime Minister lauded the efforts of the team and termed the T129 ATAK as an “impressive and good machine.”
Prime Minister was asked about Pakistan’s plan on purchase of T-129 helicopters, to which he responded that the army is assessing the helicopter and the government is negotiating the contract and terms. He further stated that the Turkish defence production industry was one of the best in the world.
He appreciated the efforts of the Turkish aviation industry. He also acknowledged President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the accomplishments in defense production.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also reviewed the helicopter. Furthermore, Turkish aviation officials also briefed the PM about the specifications and technical considerations of the combat helicopter.
Turkish Aerospace Industries CEO Temel Kotil said Pakistan and Turkey have strong ties and are cooperating in the defense production area as well.
The economic ties are improving more between Pakistan and Turkey, which is great news for Pakistan. Pakistan is attracting investments and interests from many countries and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is integral to this improving image of Pakistan. It might prove to be a game changer for Pakistan and the region.
