The name Multan is derived from Sanskrit “Mulasthana’ known as sun temple. It is also being visited by Alexander’s army. The city was conquered by Muhammad Bin Qasim along with Sindh from Chach of Alor the local ruler. At present, the city of Multan is located in the southern Punjab province.
