Multan

One of the oldest cities in Subcontinent, Multan was capital of Trigarta Kingdom at the time of Mahabharata War ruled by Katoch Dynasty. The name Multan is derived from Sanskrit “Mulasthana’ known as sun temple. It is also being visited by Alexander’s army. The city was conquered by Muhammad Bin Qasim along with Sindh from Chach of Alor the local ruler. At present, the city of Multan is located in the southern Punjab province. It is ideally agriculture intensive with farms of citrus and mangoes in abundance. The canals pass through city channeling water to farms making the land very fertile. Often floods occur in the monsoon on the lands close to Chenab River. Visit www.mytrip.pk to plan your tour to Multan.
