In order to show its commitment towards promotion of innovative ideas and technology the PTA has launched a new event namely the Pakistan Mobile App Awards 2016 whose this year’s theme includes ‘Embracing Mobile Accessibility’ so that there is more focus on the development of mobile apps especially for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the country.
The Ministry of Information Technology, the Internet Society (ISOC) Asia-Pacific Bureau as well as Telenor and Special Talent Exchange Programme (STEP) have also facilitated this launch while the details were revealed this Thursday.
The event shall hold many awareness sessions for professionals as well as students, who are mobile application developers in big cities of the country like Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta where they can sign as groups or individually to develop the mobile application and compete to take the award.
The second phase shall be having mentorships where the panel shall give proper guidance to them and professional supervision too whose names are available on the website with details. Here proposals can also be submitted online with a very simple procedure giving in basic information with their proposal in PDF format.
This way the event shall encourage the benefits of technology as well as digital features for special people through acceptance of ideas and proposals till 30th June 2016. A pre-defined criteria will enable the judges panel to select the top five mobile apps to receive designated awards.
