Winner of National Microsoft Imagine Cup 2018 has been announced by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. National Winner will be representing Pakistan at Seattle, the US in the global finals taking place this June.
In National Finals 25 teams participated from different universities and ‘Fe Amaan’ the team from National University of Science and Technology (NUST), School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (SEECS) took the top position and will now be competing in Global finals for $100,000. “Data Warriors” team from City University of Science and Information Technology Peshawar took second position and Team “IoT Solutions” from Bahria University Karachi secured the third position.
The National winners ‘Fe Amaan’, built wearable Fetal Health Monitoring System that is used to prevent miscarriages with the help of data analytics. The designed kit will work on IoT model with sensors and connected to application i.e. handheld and integrated with Azure database.
Team Data Warriors of Peshawar, built indoor positioning system for organizations to track employees at any particular time. And Team IoT solutions of Bahria University Karachi built an Air Quality sensor that has the capability of detecting air pollutants in a limited range and give its analysis by using Azure Machine Learning service.
Abid Zaidi, Country General Manager of Microsoft said, the students are the agent of change and they just need a right set of tools to succeed.
