U.S. Special Delegates for Afghanistan and Pakistan come to Islamabad

5U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador James Dobbins visited Pakistan following a series of meetings with senior Pakistani leaders.  He had a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Policy and National Security Sartaj Aziz, and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to talk over a wide range of bilateral topics and mutual interests regarding the region.

Ambassador Dobbins valued the opportunity to meet with the Pakistani leadership.  In his meetings, he proclaimed the United States’ commitment to improving its relations with Pakistan, conferred opportunities for bilateral coordination to promote regional stability, and explored ways for the United States and Pakistan may forge a stronger partnership by working together to attain collective goals.
