The first electric car charging station of Pakistan was inaugurated on Tuesday by Dewan Motors. This is the pioneer for pulgin facility for hybrid electric vehicles at the Emporium Mall in Lahore.
The growth of such electric cars in the country has risen more than ever. Hence, the first step for the electric car charging station of Pakistan was taken. It will provide electric mobility in Pakistan by installing a BMW ChargeNow station. There will be 3 such station installed in Pakistan in all.

The first BMW ChargeNow station is a network of charging stations which provides BMWs plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles support. It is made easier, quicker, and secure through such charging services now. Thus, is also an important milestone for the BMW Group. It is also the first such station in the entire region called the BMW ChargeNow. This was all confirmed by Johannes Seibert. He is the Managing Director of BMW Group Middle East.
While speaking at the ceremonial launch he added that this Dewan Motors investment is a very important step. It is the support to BMW’s vision for offering electric mobility globally. Moreover, it will provide easy access for charging to customers for such vehicles. Dewan Mohammad Yousuf Farooqui is the Chairman at Dewan Motors. He says that their latest vehicles offer even more mobility than the conventional ones. They make it possible to have routine motoring possible purely on electric mode. This is good as the availability of fossil fuels is already quite scarce practically.
According to him, it will not only give minimum to zero emissions but give tremendous fuel savings too. This, together will bring a very positive and direct impact on foreign exchange reserves of Pakistan.
