Toyota to suspend production of vehicle in Japan for six days this month due to a shortage of parts, Toyota Motor Corp. stated.
The automaker said the shortage stems from a Jan. 8 explosion at an Aichi Steel Corp. manufacturing plant. Vehicle production in Japan will be suspended from Feb 8 to Feb 13.
Overseas production lines aren’t affected, only Toyota to suspend production in Japan.
Toyota sold 10.15 million vehicles worldwide last year and is the world’s top-selling automaker.
