CDA will not Extend Contract of Monal Restaurant

Capital development authority (CDA)will not extend the contract with Monal Restaurant located at Damn-e-Koh and has informed that it will be auctioned in an open bid on the expiry of an existing contract in 2021.

The demand was placed by sub-committee of Public accounts committee that examines the expenditure, administration, delegated legislation, public petition and policies of the ministry concerned.

A committee meeting was chaired by Mian Abdul Mannan member national assembly and was held in Parliament House.

The millions of loss to the exchequer was caused because CDA has illegally allotted the land to Monal Restaurant.

The CDA has been asked to report in 14 days, while Federal investigation authority has been given the task to investigate Monal Restaurant issue.

In 2007 the CDA handed over land to Monal restaurant which was illegal as it belonged to Margalla hills national park. And the rent was fixed at Rs.260000 instead of Rs.800000 which was proposed initially per month. Als,o the land was awarded without any advertisement in the newspaper.
