Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has recently decided to launch the first ever sports university of Pakistan. The university will be established in Islamabad with the partnership of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC). The goal behind this substantial step is to train both mind and body for health benefits. The university is first of its kind in Pakistan giving an equal chance to everyone to be part of this great initiative. The Sports complex in Islamabad has been chosen as the location for the Sports University and plans are underway to conduct Olympics at University level in December .
The infrastructure of the sports university will consist of advance computer technology and have state of the arts sports equipment and facilities. It will be a proper university having an auditorium, conference rooms, halls, food courts and other related rooms. Furthermore, interactive sessions will also be held in the sports University of Pakistan and famous sports personalities will be invited to take part in these sessions. Training and workshops will also be organized to facilitate sports persons as well as coaches.
The establishment of the first ever Sports University in Pakistan is a great step forward for Pakistan as sports indeed is an integral part of a healthy society. The work on the project will start soon.
